Welcome to the 2012 Howard County Fair! There is a lot of fun in store this year from the crowning of the Howard County Fair Queen to rides that will make you scream and laugh. Again this year we are proud to host a variety of great entertainment for the entire family. Come on out for a great time! Let the Galaxy Girl aerial show take your entertainment to new heights! Add pulse pounding excitement to your visit that will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you wanting to come back for more. Choreographed to Dynamic music, Galaxy Girl performances feature state of the art lighting, a mic'd host, audience interaction, and incredible stunts of unmatched quality. These little piggies spend their youth at the racetrack, but never fail to bring home the bacon. Their careers last a single season before they eat themselves out of a job. They are known as the Swifty Swine Racing & Swimming Pigs. While some little piggies hang out in a muddy barnyard getting fat for their trip to the stockyards, Swifty Swine Productions, Racing Pigs are busy shakin' the bacon around a 150' oval track at some of the nations biggest fairs, festivals, and special events. These little porkers pound the turf at a blazing 15mph, and all for an Oreo cookie. The winner gets the cookie the loser gets the crumbs. The Granpa Cratchet show is the longest running and most successful puppet show in the special events industry. Granpa's special mix of slap stick comedy, wit, interactivity, improv, and family values gives a show the entire family can enjoy. You take three sisters armed with natural talent, beauty, and drive, follow it up with a tenacious work ethic and a strong fan base; you have the trio of Brooke, Sam and Mollie, aka, The McClymonts. Raised in Grafton, on the New South Wales north coast of Australia, the sisters have spent their formative years pursuing their musical dreams, capturing a suitcase full of accolades in their homeland, while chomping at the bit to showcase their American debut Chaos and Bright Lights. The McClymonts will perform Thursday night. Friday night's live entertainment is The Time Travelers. This three piece band has a big sound, a big sense of humor and a repertoire that ranges from Crosby Stills and Nash to ZZ Top. While their days jobs preclude them being the rock stars they were destined to be, they have been privileged to share the stage with national caliber acts such as America, Night Ranger and most recently The Marshall Tucker Band. On Saturday night, singer-songwriter Kip Moore will perform. Kip combines a raw and rustic voice with compelling lyrics of honesty to create a unique sound that’s simultaneously hypnotic and edgy. His voice is weathered by life’s detours and disappointments and strengthened by his dreams and determination. His music is infused with relentless intensity, both of passion and frustration.
